Applications Support Consultant

Role & Responsibilities
MS SQL server administrator/System administrator in the Database and Applications Support (DAS) team under Technical Operations Department. The DAS team supports Engineering and Business team members working with high-performance core applications and tools, which provide the financial services to our customers and partners, in production and pre-production environments. These applications run on the Java Application Server in both Windows and Linux environments, connect to MS SQL database, and interact directly with a collection of partners and third parties. This position will require an organized, detail-oriented person who can multitask, prioritize, show initiative and respond quickly in a 24x7, fast-paced, dynamic Internet production environment.

Manage day-to-day issues and processes. Use company's ticketing system to respond to automated or manually-entered issues in both production and pre-production environments. Problem resolution requires skills in shell scripting, MS-SQL, Windows, and Linux, as well as a strong customer-service orientation.
Add to and update existing documentation of processes and scripts used in the support of company's systems.
Work with the staff to monitor company's applications in production and pre-production environments and, should problems occur, trouble-shoot all vulnerability and connectivity issues and perform problem resolution to bring the site back on-line as quickly as possible.
Maintain and support existing Technical Operations processes.
Develop and support tools used to maintain company's pre-production and production environments.
Assist in the implementation of environmental updates.
